We are excited about our Yoga Retreat in the Heart of Himalaya !!!


Two weeks of spiritual opening, bliss and joy on the transformative and deeply rejuvenating retreats nestled in the untouched heart of the meditative Himalayas. Accommodation is set on the banks of the crystal clear water of the Holy Mother Ganga. As per the experiences of the ancient sages, the Himalayas emanate such a powerful spiritual force that it becomes easy for those visiting it to be spiritually transformed from deep within. Ayurvedic meals are provided throughout the retreat session and there are also delicious fresh fruits and vegetables available in abundance. Every day we would provide yoga classes, sessions on the deeper aspects of ancient yogic wisdom, one hour of restorative asana and another hour of breathing exercise aside from mantra meditation (japa) and Kirtania. Water rafting is a bonus as are Ayurvedic consultations and treatments, including deep tissue massage. We are excited to offer this deeply uplifting, restorative and transformative experience in the sublime locations of the majestic, serene Himalayas.

Places to Visit in Agra-The Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri The Yamuna river flows by Agra and this ancient city sets the right mood to embark on a journey on the Heritage Arc. The Taj Mahal is a shining monument carved in marble, standing majestically as a tribute to the wonderful imagination of a great emperor who gave to the world a symbol of eternal love, untrammeled by Time. The Taj Mahal gives opportunities to the visitors to explore its myriad marvels- architecture, stone works, inlay works, marble embroidery, woodworks and other examples of man's artistic ingenuity that has gone into their making.

Haridwar


Haridwar is a city in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand state in India. It is the place where the river Ganga descends in the plain areas of north India after traversing a course of 250 km through the hills starting from its origin Gaumukh (Gangotri Glacier). People from across India visit it for pilgrimage, for taking a holy dip into the revered Ganga. Haridwar is an ancient city and it is also one of the most sacred cities in India. The diverse nature of the Hindu religion- an all-embracing pluralism and the mantra of Oneness of All finding its true manifestation in Haridwar- beckons the visitors to it from across the world. Haridwar fascinates the foreigners because here they can closely experience India’s multi-layered, complex culture and the astoundingly huge body of Hindu rituals aside from comprehending the depth of the ancient civilization living through millennia despite the trouble and turmoil plaguing the land’s history.

Rishikesh


Rishikesh is a town located in the northern state of Uttarkhand in India. It enjoys global fame as the world capital of yoga and meditation. Positioned on the banks of the holy river Ganga, Rishikesh is also the gateway to the Himalayas. It offers enthralling beauty and majesty of nature. This truly spiritual place houses a large number of temples situated against the beautiful backdrop of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. There is a legend linked with the name of the town. As per the legend, when Rishi Raibhya did severe penance the God appeared before him in the form of Rishikesh. Rishikesh is indeed a perfect destination for those looking to delve into their deeper, spiritual selves. Rishikesh is famous for yoga and meditation as well as rafting, camping and Bungee Jumping. About 245 km away from Delhi, Rishikesh beckons the foreigners as the spiritually charged atmosphere of the place helps them get into touch with their inmost soul hidden deep beneath the clamorous noise of the surface self. Uttarkashi


Situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi at an altitude of 1352 m above the sea level, Uttarkashi is a town located in the Garhwal region of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Uttarkashi houses a number of ashrams and temples and also the famed Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. The name of the town, meaning Kashi of the north, reflects its similarity to the celebrated pilgrimage and historical city Kashi (Varanasi).

Places to Visit in Uttarkashi Vishwanath Temple: Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi is a revered one dedicated to Lord Shiva situated around 300 meters from the local bus stand. It is an ancient temple, said to be first built by the sage Parasuram and later renovated by Maharani Khaneti, wife of Sudarshan Shah, in 1857. The temple has a Shivling, 60 cm in height and 90 cm in circumference. It is a prime pilgrimage attraction, no one misses visiting this holy shrine during their trip to Uttarkashi.

Shakti Temple: This temple is situated just opposite the Vishwanath temple. A big Trishul is the centre of attraction of the temple. The Trishul is six meters in height and 90 cm at the bottom. There are many legends hanging on to the Trishul. It is widely believed that it is made of iron in the upper part and copper in the lower part. As per the epics, the Trishul was thrown by goddess Durga at the Asuras to vanquish the latter.

Maneri: Maneri has recently been developed as a popular tourist attraction because of the dam on the Bhagirathi river. Water is received via an 8 km long tunnel to the turbines at Tiloth. As a result, a lake has been formed at Maneri which attracts people.

Nachiketa Tal: Nachiketa Tal, a beautiful lake, is surrounded by tall and old oak, pine and rhododendron, adding further to the tranquil beauty of the place. It is believed that the lake was created by Nachiketa, son of the sage Uddalak. Tourists can reach Nachiketa Tal from Chaurangi Khal, located 29 km away from Uttarkashi.

Gangnani: Gangnani is an ideal destination for the spiritually inclined and those seeking peace of mind. Being a perfect spot for meditation, Gangnani acts as an ideal retreat for those seeking soul and also for nature lovers. From here, one can have a stunning view of the majestic mountains and Gangotri. Famous for its thermal water springs, called Rishikund, Gangnani is a perfect place for rejuvenation. Most of the devotees take holy dip in this natural hot water spring before they head towards Gangotri on their pilgrimage. From Gangnani, one can also visit another beautiful place Bhatwari located just 12 km away. A temple dedicated to the sage Parasara, father of Veda Vyas, is located at Gangnani.

Harsil


Harsil: About 73 km away from Uttarkashi, Harsil is situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi river at an approximate elevation of 2620 m above the sea level. More than other areas in Uttarkashi, the temperature here remains good and comfortable in almost all the seasons. Harsil is located on the way to Gangotri. Apples cultivated here are famous for their delicious taste.

Gangotri: The temple of Gangotri is located at a height of 3200 m above sea level. About 100 km from Uttarkashi, the present temple was built in the 18th century by General Amar Singh Thapa on the banks of the Bhagirathi. It is a revered shrine because of the spiritually uplifting aura it emanates. A string of ashrams has come up on various sites of the holy place which offer decent accommodation. Some of the nearby places which can be visited are Kedarkund, Gaurikund and Patangna.

Gaumukh: Gaumukh, 18 km away from Gangotri, is one of the most visited tourist/pilgrimage spots in Uttarkashi district. The glacier which is the fount of Bhagirathi river (Mother Ganga) is deified as a divine entity.

Dayara Bugyal: The place is exactly 28 km away from Uttarkashi, located approximately at 3048 m above the sea level. It commands a panoramic view of the Himalayas, standing layer after lofty layer in a serene posture amidst a transcendental surrounding. With a small but beautiful lake Barnala Tal flowing over there, the Bugyal is a famed trekking route. During the winter, one can experience the best of the snow falls over here.




What to bring (it's not compulsory )


Alarm clock, Laptop or tablet (if you like to use internet/ Wi-Fi), warm clothes (for the Himalayas),comfortable clothes suitable for yoga, notebook and pen, one personal yoga mat, one hand towel, small thermos/tea mug (optional), sunglasses, toiletries, torch, walking shoes and water bottle.

Private rooms with attached baths, three meals per day, one session of ayurveda massage per week, information, guidance and escort services for local sightseeing, river rafting, mini trekking in the Himalayas, Yoga kirtan/ bhajan, Yajna and prayer, visit of temples in Rishikesh, Haridwar, Gangotri, and Uttarkashi, visit of the water spring-hot water spring and cold water spring, Ganga Aarti and releasing diyas in the Ganga.
