Airport

The nearest airport is Dehradun (DED). If you are flying, we recommend you book your flight with DED as your final destination. You can find domestic flights to DED from all major cities in India.

Bus

Arriving by bus to Rishikesh is easy. You can find buses leaving every hour from the Kashmiri Gate Bus Station in Delhi to Rishikesh. Once you arrive to the Rishikesh Bus station you must find transportation to Anant yoga school via taxi or Tuk Tuk. Drop off location will be provided upon booking confirmation. Train

You can arrive by train to Rishikesh train station. Trains to Rishikesh are available from Delhi and other major cities. Taxis

If arriving to Dehradun (DED) airport near the start date of the Yoga Teacher Training Course, a taxi can be arranged to transport you from the airport to the Anant yoga school facilities. Travel details will be requested by Anant yoga school upon booking confirmation. Taxis can be booked personally from DED, if your arrival date does not align with the start date of the Yoga Teacher Training Course.

About Rishikesh

Holy city

Rishikesh is a holy town in the foothills of the Himalayas, known for its many Ashrams and is now world famous as the Yoga Capital of the world. It is mentioned in the Hindu scriptures as being a place for enlightenment, and many yogis and sages have called Rishikesh home since ancient times. Every year in the month of March the International Yoga Festival is hosted by Rishikesh’s most renowned Ashram, Parmarth Niketan. Rishikesh is also known as the gateway to the Char Dham.

Vegetarianism:

Rishikesh is a vegetarian town. You will NOT find meat or fish available at any shops or restaurants. Even eggs are not easy to find.

Alcohol:

Rishikesh is also an “dry” or alcohol free town.

    Why is training needed?

    Teaching is an art and a practice In itself; moreover, when it regards teaching Yoga. There is a lot to consider in a Yoga class, from preparation and sequencing to class management and student safety and adjustment. In the Anant yoga school Yoga Teacher Training Courses, you will learn the foundations of Yoga Teaching and enhance your self practice. In completing the training, you will be able to teach beginner classes with confidence and in a safe manner, so you can play your role in spreading the gift of Yoga to mankind. Then it is up to you to continue your education and to develop your Yoga practice and teaching skills.

    What experience or qualifications do I need to join the 200hr training program?

  • Anant yoga school 100h and 200h Yoga Teacher Training Courses are suited for advanced beginners and intermediate level Yogis and Yoginis. We recommend that you have a minimum of one year of regular practice (at least 3 times per week).
  • Anant yoga school 300h Yoga Teacher Training Courses are suited for intermediate level Yogis and Yoginis, and we require that you have a 200h certification to attend the course.
  • Which Yoga styles do you teach?

    The asana practice part of the Yoga Teacher Training Course focuses on traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, for they are the foundational styles from which all other Yoga styles branch.

    How many students are in a class?

    At Anant yoga school Yoga Teacher Training Courses, we have a maximum of 30 participants. The group is then divided into two, comprised of no more than 15 persons for asana related classes to ensure everyone gets proper adjustment and attention.

    What is the certification process?

    With the successful completion of the course you will be granted a Anant yoga school Graduate diploma. You must then register as a member of Yoga Alliance, pay the due fees, and apply for RYT certification.

    What course dates are offered?

    200h Yoga Teacher Trainings at Anant yoga school start on the 1st and finish on the 28th of each month. We request that you arrive one day before the beginning and you are allowed to leave after lunch on the last day. Check out our next course dates here.

    To secure your spot we require a 20% nonrefundable deposit. The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival. We accept all payments by:

  • Is there an attendance policy?

    Yes. 100% attendance is compulsory for all students, for them to earn their certificate. All classes are mandatory. Students can take a leave with the permission of the concerned teacher, but only in case of an emergency or illness. Uninformed leaves will not be accepted, as they will have a negative impact on the students’ monthly performance.

    Do students get any days off from classes?

    Yes. no class will be scheduled on Sundays and students will have the day available to do as they wish. In addition, an optional group outing is scheduled for every Wednesday morning, and the rest of the day is free for students.

    Are any group activities scheduled outside of normal classes?

    Yes. An optional group outing is scheduled for every Wednesday. Attendance is not mandatory but is highly encouraged. The scheduled events include:

  • Kunjapuri Temple and mountain hike
  • Local market
  • Ganga Aarti
  • Baba meditation caves
  • Can I use my phone/tablet/laptop during class?

    Use of electronic devices during class is permitted only for photos and recording of class for study reference. Internet access during class is prohibited.

    Will a yoga mat be available for use, or do I need to pack my own mat?

    Yoga mats are available for use during the duration of the course. No need to pack your mat, but you are welcome to bring your own mat if you so choose!

    Can I take other classes or courses during my free time and days off?

    No. This course curriculum is intense and requires your full commitment and dedication. If you have free time and energy for another course, then you are not giving this course the required attention.

    What room types are available?

    There are single and shared double room and triple shared rooms options available. Room rates are available on the Homepage.

    Do the rooms have an air conditioner?

    No. The rooms are equipped with Indian style ceiling fans but you can opt for a AC room by paying the extra pricing

    Do the rooms have a private western toilet and shower?

    Yes. All rooms have a private bathroom with a western toilet and a shower.

    Do the showers have hot water?

    Yes. All showers have hot water available.

    Do I need to bring towels or linens?

    No. Towels and fresh linens are provided.

    Will toilet paper be available?

    Yes. Toilet paper will be provided to students.

    Can I wash my laundry during the duration of my stay?

    A washing machine is available in the afternoon for use by students once per week. A clothes line will be provided for drying of clothes to conserve electricity. Alternatively, low-cost laundry services are available in town if you choose to seek and pay for those services.

    Can my spouse share my accommodations if they are not taking the course?

    Yes, it is possible to share accommodations if you are traveling with your spouse and they would like to stay with you during the duration of the course. Please inquire via email at anantyogaschool@gmail.com for specific rates.

    Do you provide filtered/bottled water?

    Yes, we provide filtered drinking water. We use the latest water filtering technology to ensure our water is free from contamination.

    Bottled water is available for a cost.

    Do you provide Vegan options?

    Yes, vegan alternatives are always present for each meal.

    Do you cater for severe Dietary Restrictions (gluten free, etc)?

    No. We do NOT cater for gluten free and other dietary restrictions.

    How many meals are provided?

    We provide three delicious Sattvic meals a day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the course fees, except for the day before the start, and for dinner on the 28th.

    Morning tea and afternoon break drinks are also included in the package.
